Mission Statement
Our Mission: to help you explore and enjoy the wonders of Yoga.
Our goal is to create a safe, inviting environment in which to explore different paths to health, healing, and personal growth. PCYH also seeks to provide a forum for holistic professionals to share their work and be supported in right livelihood.
Guided by principles of yoga expressed by all traditions, and through all its endeavors, PCYH strives to be a source and center of inspiration, information, products, and services to help meet the needs of people living and working in the greater Princeton community and beyond.

About Our Director
PCYH founder and director, Deborah Metzger, ACSW, RYT, is a certified advanced Kripalu Yoga teacher, a Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapist, a licensed social worker and holds an MSW from the University of Pennsylvania.

In addition to teaching throughout the area, Deborah has led related workshops at Princeton University, in corporate settings such as Johnson & Johnson, Merrill Lynch, Summit Bank, and State agencies, as well as local community groups, and has assisted programs at the Kripalu Center in Lenox, MA. PCYH is an independently owned and operated affiliate of Kripalu Center.

She founded and served as the first president of Womanspace, Inc., a program for victims of domestic violence.

What is a Kripalu Affiliated Studio (KAS)?
Kripalu Center has been serving humanity by offering opportunities for yoga practice and other forms of experiential learning for over 25 years. During that time, Kripalu Center has become known the world over for the vitality of its spiritual community, for its unique approach to personal transformation through yoga practice, and for the heartfelt service of its staff. People have come to associate the word "Kripalu" with a certain tone, feel and way of being. Some people call this the "Kripalu Experience." Others describe it as the "spirit of Kripalu."

The Kripalu approach to experiential learning is based on three essential principles:

Safety: creating an environment of physical and psychological safety, usually within the context of a bonded group.

Transformation: engaging in practices that unite body and mind such as yoga, meditation, dance, art and other forms of self-expression.

Integration: including activities that integrate the body/mind experience and return people to their lives more grounded and fully alive.

Kripalu Affiliated Studios operate in harmony with Kripalu Center and its network of affiliated yoga studios. This pilot project has been established and financially supported by Kripalu Center as part of its mission of creating a conscious and compassionate world.

PCYH Director, Deborah Metzger, RYT, is a Kripalu trained and certified instructor. Kripalu Center, was, in part, her model for establishing the Princeton Center for Yoga & Health.
