Beginner/Basic Yoga: Community Class (by donation)
We are all beginners! This class is suitable for both beginners and for those with some experience and will include basic breathing exercises (pranayama), foundational poses, sun salutations, and deep relaxation. Since yoga is an extremely potent agent of transformation, and not simply a form of exercise, the emphasis in this class will be on poses combined with proper breathing, inner awareness and alignment, which will bring about deep changes in one’s energy level and release deep psychic blockages. You will be guided to use a non-aggressive approach and moderate pace and avoid injury. This is your chance to glean and discover the fruits of yoga: vigor and vitality, balance, peace, a sense of well-being, and joy.

Karate for Kids! - Drop-ins Welcome
What can children learn from karate?
Learning karate provides many benefits, for children of all ages! Karate develops character, self-confidence and awareness. Many children have told Takeshi that after starting karate, they begin to feel more confident at school and comfortable with themselves. Developing a sense of awareness leads to better judgment when entering potentially dangerous situations. Children also learn how to focus and practice self-control.How does Takeshi teach karate?
Takeshi believes that one of the most important aspects of karate is stretching, and making a flexible body. Everyone has the ability to increase their own flexibility, and it is important as flexibility reduces injuries caused by stress and external forces. Being flexible also makes it a lot easier to do those high kicks! Takeshi will spend part of each class stretching. Takeshi will also teach proper etiquette within the dojo (classroom), explaining how to sit seiza (the traditional seating posture in Japan) and how to respect the others who are also in the class. But karate is fun, too! Unlike other martial arts instructors, Takeshi hopes that the children he teaches will learn to love karate as much as he does. He uses games and game-like activities for muscle training, to increase endurance, to teach coordination and balance, and to even teach basic skills.
Come out and try a class!

Oneness Blessing - by Donations only
The Oneness Blessing is a non-denominational benediction. It is the transfer of Divine Energy, which enables the senses to be free from the interference of the mind. When the senses are unclouded by the mind’s interpretations, a natural clarity of perception occurs with accompanying spontaneous feelings of joy and connection to the Oneness in everything. Oneness Blessing is transferred by the Oneness Facilitator by placing his or her hands onto the crown of your head, usually for about 1 minute. The recipient may experience a tingling sensation in the head, or blissful energy flowing through the body, or sometimes nothing at all. Whatever the experience, the recipient can trust that the process of Oneness has begun.

Yin Yoga
Yin yoga is a quiet practice suitable for students of all levels of experience. Practitioners are offered an opportunity to surrender, slow down and come back to balance. Many of the poses are seated, supine or prone and are held with muscles relaxed for several minutes. The Yin parts of our body are the parts that lie closest to our core, specifically the bones and connective tissue. Muscles prefer movement and repetition and are considered the Yang parts. Remaining muscularly passive for periods of time gently stretches dense connective tissue of the lower back, hips and spine, which may otherwise become stiff and less mobile as we age. There is a focus on the breath, being present in the moment, relieving tension and letting go. The Yin practice includes powerful mental and emotional benefits as its practitioner becomes quiet, still and mindful of the present.
