    • Times: 01:30PM to 03:30PM
Come and join us on this amazing journey through the chakras. There are seven chakras, or energy centers, in the body. Each chakra is associated with particular functions within the body and with specific life issues and the way we handle them, both inside ourselves and in our interactions with the world. As centers of force, chakras can be thought of as sites where we receive, absorb, and distribute life energies. Through external situations and internal habits, such as long-held physical tension and limiting self-concepts, a chakra can become either deficient or excessive—and therefore imbalanced. So if we can balance this chakra system, we can balance how we function in life. Practicing Restorative poses that correspond to each chakra can release these blocks and clear the path to higher consciousness.

No expectations are present as we open to the intention of letting go. Props are used to fully support the body in restful postures. While in these poses, students will be receiving Reiki, a form of energy therapy that enhances the natural healing system of the body and creates relaxation and a sense of well-being.

Price: $35/$30 if paid by 8/29

Based on the work of Jon Kabat-Zinn, the program‘s structured educational approach offers mindfulness meditation and gentle yoga as the core of its program to guide people to take better care of themselves and to live healthier and more adaptive lives. People who have participated in MBSR have found help with a range of physiological and stress-related conditions including chronic pain, IBS, migraine headaches, high blood pressure, cancer, sleep disorders, anxiety and depression. MBSR provides training in meditation, mindful-yoga, and relaxation to mobilize your mind/body resources to work with stress, pain, and illness in new ways that can promote growth and healing.

The program includes eight 2 hour sessions, a one day retreat, a workbook, and practice CDs. Its success requires a strong commitment to daily practice.
