Phoenix Rising yoga therapist, 500-Hour Registered Yoga Teacher, and Level III
Reiki practitioner, offers private sessions in this holistic, healing art. Phoenix
Rising Yoga Therapy integrates hatha yoga postures with elements of body-mind
psychology to identify and release physical and emotional tension. Supported yoga
postures are combined with other techniques to reveal and dissolve habitual holding
patterns. The therapy empowers clients to interpret their own insights and make

PSYCHOTHERAPY and INTEGRAL MEDICINE

Pat Vroom Ph.D. is a licensed psychologist and the Director of Integral Medicine at Capital Health System, the first area hospital to create a service to foster collaboration between conventional medicine and complementary therapy in order to provide for the whole person. Dr. Vroom's psychotherapy practice focuses on teaching individuals to access their own inner strengths for growth and healing. She has clinical and research experience in Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, Mindfulness Meditation, Ericksonian Hypnosis, and Mind-Body Therapy.
Dr. Vroom teaches mind-body strategies (such as meditation, self-hypnosis, and mindfulness based cognitive therapy) to manage stress, anxiety, depression, insomnia, and other symptoms of illness ( e.g. surgical anxiety, menopause, cancer related fatigue, chemo-brain, IBS, high blood pressure), to facilitate positive behavior change, reduce pain, and improve coping and living life to the fullest.
Dr. Vroom and CHS are collaborating with PCYH to offer the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Program and individual psychotherapy at PCYH. Prior to coming to CHS, she led the Mind-Body Program at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center's Integrative Medicine Service in NYC.
