The Soma Yoga Certificate
Program was created by Bobbie Ellis from the
Soma Center in Highland Park, NJ. The program offers a solid foundation
in the principles of Yoga and Somatic Education. |
Bridging the ancient wisdom of Yoga with Somatic Education creates
a dynamic teaching style for many different environments and populations.

Bobbie Ellis
- Bobbie Ellis
is the originator
of Soma Yoga & Co-founder and Director of Soma Center for Yoga,
Bodywork & the Moving Arts located in Highland Park, New Jersey
for the past 9 years. She has been teaching and studying yoga,
movement therapy and bodywork for over 2 decades.
Bobbie's training and exploration includes all forms of Yoga,
Kripalu DansKinetics®,
YogaRhythmics, Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy, Integrated Massage
Therapy, Thai Yoga Bodywork, Gestalt Psychotherapy, Expressive
Movement Therapy, Natural Movement Education and Continuum Movement.
Her teaching has been most influenced by Donna Farhi, Angela
Farmer, Erich Shiffman, Alice Rutkowski, Sharon Gannon, Emilie
Conrad, Susan Harper, and her own yoga and movement explorations
for the past 21 years. Soma Yoga encourages inner inquiry and
Self exploration emphasizing freedom within the form of classical
Hatha Yoga.
Bobbie is a member of the National Yoga Alliance, The International
Association of Yoga Therapists, The International Somatic Education
and Movement Therapy Association. Bobbie has trained many teachers
in the tradition of Soma Yoga, and they have become some of
the most popular and well trained teachers in the area.
