Tori Jueds
View Pose
Tori's classes reflect classical Hatha principles concerning alignment,
grounding, and the use of the breath to unite mind and body. However,
even her Hatha classes incorporate hallmarks of vinyasa ("flow")
practice; having first become enamored of yoga through ashtanga, Tori
remains fascinated by the anatomy of movement, and her approach to asana
emphasizes the dynamic in even those poses that appear static. Tori
developed and deepened her practice at Area Yoga in Brooklyn, Practice
Yoga in Philadelphia, and Boundless Yoga in Washington, DC. At
Boundless, under the instruction of Kim Weeks, Tori obtained her
International Yoga Alliance teacher certification. She has practiced

View Pose
Rama Ramanathan, Yoga Alliance (R.Y.T. 500) is a certified
yoga instructor with 19 years of teaching experience. Rama studied
at the Sivananda Yoga Centers, under Martin Bland, the centenarian
yogi Swami Bua, and also Srivatsa Ramaswami, who taught him the
Vinyasakrama yoga of the late Sri Krishnamacharya of India, who
has taught yoga teachers like B.K.S. Iyengar and Pattabhi Jois.
(Srivatsa Ramaswami is the author of the book, Yoga fvor the Three
Stages of Life published by Inner Traditions, USA.)
Rama was introduced to yoga at age 18 by his uncle. He has taught
at a number of hospitals, corporations, fitness centers, yoga studios,
schools, senior centers, and summer camps for children. He has taught
"Power" yoga, gentle yoga, "Sivananda" yoga,
and he now teaches the "Vinyasa Krama", the style of yoga
that meets the needs of all individuals irrespective of age, physical
and mental capabilities. "Vinyasa" means a joining or
linking mechanism; a fluid movement. "Krama" means "the
method." Vinyasa krama allows one to do a main, classical asana
(posture) by doing all the preliminary movements preparatory to
that pose. It is a logical, well-planned sequence of movements in
one or more yogic postures or sequences, synchronized with appropriate
breathing.
Rama is a volunteer at the Chinmaya Mission, a world-wide organization,
which teaches Vedanta to adults and value-based education to children.
He attends Vedic chanting classes and also organizes Indian classical
music and dance concerts in the tristate area. |

Srivatsa Ramaswami learned from the great legendary teacher, Krishnamacharya, who taught other world-renowned Indian yoga masters such as B.K.S. Iyengar, Pattabhi Jois, and T.V.K. Desikachar.
Rajam's approach to yoga is classical incorporating the traditional form of
yoga. At the same time, having received training from different masters, she has
developed a unique approach to yoga successfully integrating strong emphasis on
alignment, strength and flexibility associated with "Iyengar" yoga, the methodical
sequencing of "Sivananda" yoga, the vigourous, integrative movements of "Bua"
yoga, and with the vinyasa flow style (Vinyasa Krama). Her classes are appropriate
for both beginning and intermediate level students. Incorporating compassion,
relevance, and power in her teaching, Rajam's classes are tailored to suit the
