Long, Slow and Deep Yoga
with Julie Parrella |
5:30-7:30 pm |
These
series of workshops are offered as an alternative to a Power
Vinyasa Flow practice and are designed for those times when
you still want to maintain your practice without being too physically
active or generating much heat.
The majority of this practice is spent on the floor. We will
focus on holding poses longer, breathing deeply and quieting
the mind while engaging in meditation. We will explore opening
our hamstrings, groins, hips and shoulders while learning
to relax into stillness.
This practice cultivates the concept of Sthira Sukham Asanam
from Patanjali’s Yoga Sutra, which translated means
seated pose should be steady and comfortable. This may sound
simple, but many find sitting in meditation painful and difficult.
This sequence of poses will help teach you how to bring ease
into your yoga practice.
This is a multi-level class suitable for all levels.
This workshop is not recommended for students with neck injuries,
epilepsy,
high blood pressure, heart condition, eye problems or pregnancy.
Fee: $20 Pre-Registration 5 days prior to workshop

Wynne Paris in Concert: Groovananda!
with Wynne paris |
7:30 pm |
| Enjoy a lively evening with Wynne Paris
For
the last 7 years world beat musician Wynne Paris has split
his
time between Northern California and Washington DC, learning
the music of yoga, producing new age music and developing
a musical style that he describes as "Raga Rock".
By mixing ecstatic and holistic expressions of music, Wynne
uses tabla loops, Indian instruments, chanting, an innovative
guitar style, and a generous helping of Sarod (an esoteric
Indian instrument) to serve up a spiritually funky and uplifting
sound.
Although
the music scene associated with this style of music is still
below the radar, it is quickly attracting the attention of
the
mainstream music industry. In the last few years Wynne has
had the opportunity to chant with Bhagavan Das & Mike
D. (Beastie Boys), produce a single for Kirtan artist Krishna
Das (Triloka/BMG), and write and record with members of Ratdog,
the Other Ones and Rusted Root.
He has also performed with the Indian Saint Ammachi, shared
the stage with H.H. the Dalai Lama, and produced music for
visionary activist astrologer Caroline Casey.

Brochure Here...
Starseed's 200-hour yoga teacher training program (SSYTT-200)
will be hosted by The Princeton Center for Yoga & Health
over a 10-month period, weekends only, beginning July, 2005
. Our program promises a deep personal experience; one that
will enrich your life, your personal practice and knowledge
of the application of yoga in a very practical way. You will
gain self-awareness and the potency to fill your life with more
joy and passion!
Starseed's
training is dedicated to instilling in their students the
knowledge and application of yoga in a directly personal manner
to empower the realization of self.
SSYTT-200
offers the tools needed to become an effective and inspiring
yoga teacher. In addition to the required course work and
independent study, your training will be provided by experienced
teachers skilled at helping students develop confidence and
their own authentic teaching style.
Our
program distinguishes itself from others, in part, because
of our emphasis on the development of a personal practice.
Drawing on their shamanic training (an ancient, earth-based
method of self-discovery), Jyoti Chrystal and Madelana Ferrara-Mattheis
are skilled and intuitive at nurturing and mentoring students
to develop their own unique and personal yoga practice. A
good teacher's personal practice is, in our opinion, fundamental
to their foundation.
Course
description: asana practice, principles of asana
instruction, hands-on adjustments, meditation, prananyama,
Classical yoga philosophy and history. Also included are:
anatomy, basic ayurveda, teaching methodology, introduction
to the Chakra system, bandhas, yoga for special needs, restorative
and therapeutic applications.
THE
NEXT STEP
Submit
your one to two page letter of intention, along with your
completed SSYTT application and a recent photograph of yourself.
Please send it with your non-refundable application fee of
$50.00. You will be contacted for an interview with one of
our trainers.
Tuition: $2,900. Additional bank fees apply
for credit card payments.
There
are a limited number of applicants accepted for each offering
in order to ensure a personalized experience. We suggest that
you don't delay in submitting your materials for acceptance
into this transformative experience.
