An
Evening with Dan Millman
co-presented by The Friend's Health Connection |
7:00
pm |
Please
Note: Beginner/Mixed Level Kripalu yoga classes are
cancelled just for this evening due to our special guest.
About Our Evening with Dan Millman...
To celebrate the publication of THE JOURNEYS OF SOCRATES – which
introduces four mentors that young Socrates met on his odyssey –
Dan will, for the first time, describe the lives and teachings of
the four unusual masters who have influenced his life. Each of these
mentors provided radically different kinds of instruction, and each
represented an evolution on his spiritual path. They include: Bolivian
master who created the finest spiritual school on Earth; a Great Adept
and Awakener whose behavior offered a striking lesson; a spiritual
rascal who opened doors to the future; a modest sage who revealed
the simplest and highest teaching of all.
Dan's real-life adventures – and those of young Socrates
– reveal the universal obstacles and lessons along the spiritual
path, and shed light on our shared yearnings and common quests.
Listeners will learn how to live a spiritual life in the material
realm – with our head in the clouds and our feet on the ground.
Discover the wellsprings of the peaceful warrior's way, and new
sources of wisdom. Let Dan's teachers become your own, to awaken
the peaceful heart and warrior spirit within us all.
Cost: $15

Long, Slow and Deep Yoga with
Julie Parrella |
5:30-7:30 pm |
These
series of workshops are offered as an alternative to a Power Vinyasa
Flow practice and are designed for those times when you still want
to maintain your practice without being too physically active or generating
much heat.
The majority of this practice is spent on the floor. We will focus
on holding poses longer, breathing deeply and quieting the mind
while engaging in meditation. We will explore opening our hamstrings,
groins, hips and shoulders while learning to relax into stillness.
This practice cultivates the concept of Sthira Sukham Asanam from
Patanjali’s Yoga Sutra, which translated means seated pose
should be steady and comfortable. This may sound simple, but many
find sitting in meditation painful and difficult. This sequence
of poses will help teach you how to bring ease into your yoga practice.
This is a multi-level class suitable for all levels.
This workshop is not recommended for students with neck injuries,
epilepsy,
high blood pressure, heart condition, eye problems or pregnancy.
Fee: $20 Pre-Registration 5 days prior to workshop
